What is Pilates

~~Pilates is a body—mind practice of physical conditioning which embraces both Eastern and Western philosophies of fitness. Joseph H. Pilates was born in Germany in 1880 and came to the United States in the 1950’s where he started Body Contrology in his New York City Studio and gained great respect with dancers and those involved in the entertainment industry.

~~Pilates is a precision oriented form of exercise engaging both body and mind. It will build a strong lean and supple physique. You will stand better and feel more poise. You will enjoy less painful joints and more stamina. Pilates works when you work it and make it a part of your daily lifestyle.

Where do I begin?

We offer one Complimentary Private Session to introduce you to Pilates and give you an idea of where your body is in terms of strengths and weakness.

You and the instructor will formulate goals and create a unique plan that works for you. After only one private session, you will be more comfortable with the language of Pilates.

Janice Silva/ Instructor: Janice has over 20 years of experience with Pilates and 30+ years with the personal practice of Yoga. As a certified Pilates teacher, she specializes in helping her students make it their own.

Karen Fraser/Instructor: Karen brings great body awareness and understanding to her teaching. She has been practicing Pilates for 4 years, and Yoga for 20+ years.

What does it Cost?

Initial Consultation: Complimentary & required before group classes.

Tuesday and Thursday: every 9:00 am with Janice drop in fee $15.00

Private Sessions:
• One-on-one Mat Session with you and the instructor. $45.00-$60.00 per lesson
*One-on-one available with Reformer work after 3 months on the mat.

Semi-Private:
• Two students with one or two instructors, on the Mat. $25.00 per person, per lesson

Couples Pilates:
• A great way to learn to work out together at home! $25.00 per person, per lesson

Group:
Group class, for clients who have had 1 Private session. $15.00 per person, per class.
